Capital Regional District (CRD) manages all water, sewage, trash, and some electricity for Greater Victoria in Southern Vancouver Island. The Victoria International Airport, located in Sidney, transports passengers to Calgary, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and local destinations on the island. The transport is run by BC Transport which uses double decker buses to transport people. Via Rail owns the railroad that runs from Victoria to Nanaimo to Courtenay. BC Ferries transports people from Victoria to Vancouver and is the main way of transportation between the two. An elected city council and mayor are elected every 4 years.
